At Zalmi Chappal, every handmade chappal we sell starts with a story older than us. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), one generation of mochis hand-cuts the leather, hand-stitches the chappal, and passes the entire craft down to the next generation — not through a manual, but through years spent sitting beside someone who already knew every step by heart.

We are Zalmi Chappal. We didn’t invent this craft. We’re carrying it forward.

The Material

Where Zalmi Chappal Begins

We start with the leather itself — High Kurram, the thick, vegetable-tanned hide that’s been the gold standard in KPK’s chappal markets for generations, and Leather Bag material, softer and smoother, for designs that call for a different finish. People choose every hide the way they always have: by hand, by feel, trusting those who know the difference between leather that will last and leather that only looks like it will.

What Zalmi Chappal Makes

We build our collection around the traditions of the region — Peshawari chappals in their classic and Kaptaan styles, Kohati designs with their sleek, close fit, Charsadda chappals with their distinct stitching, and Norozi styles rooted in Balochi craftsmanship. Each design carries its own history, its own occasion, its own place in how people here have dressed for weddings, festivals, and everyday life for as long as anyone can remember.

Handmade, Not Mass-Made

Artisans handcraft most of what we sell, piece by piece, cutting, shaping, and stitching every chappal to hold its form and comfort wear after wear. It takes longer than a machine. It’s worth it.

Why We Started

Somewhere between fast fashion and forgotten crafts, we saw a gap — people who wanted the real thing, made properly, without having to travel to a bazaar to find someone who still makes it right. So we built Zalmi Chappal to close that distance. From our hands to your doorstep, with nothing lost in between.
